Kylie Minogue is one of the most successful Australian pop stars in history, selling over 80 million records worldwide. Though her professional life has shone brightly for over 30 years, her romantic life has perplexed fans as she continues to remain unwed.

Appearing recently on ITV’s “An Audience with Kylie Minogue” alongside Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey, Kylie once again prompted questions about her relationship status. While the 53-year-old icon has had several high-profile relationships throughout her decades-long career, she has yet to walk down the aisle.
Kylie was first linked to her “Neighbours” co-star Jason Donovan in the late 1980s, when they played sweethearts on the Australian soap opera. Their on-screen romance blossomed into real-life young love, though it ultimately fizzled out.
Her most intense romance was with late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence in the early 1990s. Their electric first encounter set the tone for their passionate connection, with Michael bluntly asking if they should have lunch or sex upon meeting her. Their divergent lifestyles led to their split in 1995, but Kylie admits Hutchence was her “great love story.”
In the years that followed, Kylie had fleeting entanglements with various suitors in the public eye, including Lenny Kravitz and French photographer Stephane Sednaoui. She hoped to settle down with French actor Olivier Martinez in the early 2000s, but after supporting Kylie through her battle with breast cancer, they called off their five-year relationship.
So when Kylie began dating British actor Joshua Sasse in 2015, when she was 47, fans hoped she had finally found “the one.” The pair were engaged after just six months of dating with plans to marry, but they suddenly split in 2017 amidst cheating allegations against Joshua.
Most recently, Kylie spent over five supposedly blissful years with GQ creative director Paul Solomons before another abrupt breakup in 2022. Rumors swirled that they too had intentions to wed, but Kylie remains husbandless.
Now in her 50s, the ever-youthful pop icon continues living independently and pouring herself into her music. While she has come close to walking down the aisle several times over the years, fans remain baffled about why Kylie keeps dodging wedding bells. But perhaps global superstardom and enduring girl power serve as satisfying substitutes for married life at least for now.
