Slash’s “Jessica” Les Paul Finally Available to the Rest of Us

As a dedicated Guns N’ Roses fan, you have probably salivated over Slash’s famous “Jessica” Les Paul guitar more than once. For over three decades, Slash has been primarily attracted to the 1988 Les Paul, which has been his go-to axe and added thunder to countless GNR and Velvet Revolver tunes. And now guitarists everywhere can own this iconic instrument because of a recent partnership between Slash and Gibson.

The Slash “Jessica” Les Paul Standard has been meticulously crafted to replicate nearly every detail of the original instrument. The vintage-style neck shape, the straightforward maple top, and the mahogany body and neck were all painstakingly created by Gibson’s master luthiers in close coordination with Slash. A subdued honey explosion on top and a rich red on the back accurately represent the color scheme.

Naturally, without his recognizable crossed-guns insignia on the headstock and his name on the truss rod cover, no Slash signature guitar would be complete. The true magic, though, is found under the engine, where two specially built Burstbucker pickups are connected to Orange Drop capacitors. Vintage wiring and Alnico 2 magnets give Slash his decades-long, deep, and powerful tone.
